Get to know usDetailed scheduling decides every day whether manufacturing orders run on time — amid limited capacities, tight customer deadlines, and frequent disruptions. valantic waySuite is an APS software that automates detailed scheduling in real time, tightly integrated with ERP, material planning, and workforce scheduling. Production planners, SCM managers, and IT directors use it to replace manual Excel-based planning with a continuous, responsive planning process.
Challenges for Production Planners, SCM and IT Leaders, and Executives
Manufacturing companies — whether producing single units, series, or high-variant products — face structurally similar challenges in operational detailed scheduling. However, these challenges differ depending on the role within the organization.
valantic waySuite is an Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system that automatically schedules manufacturing orders against resources — machines, workstations, tools, and personnel — while taking all relevant constraints into account in real time.
waySuite makes it possible to efficiently and automatically schedule the entire order landscape — backlog, capacity, customer deadlines, and delays. Planning results are available instantly, with no waiting time for the planner. Single-unit, series, and high-variant manufacturers can all be optimized equally.
waySuite optimizes order sequences based on delivery dates, priorities, setup times, and capacity limits — supported by AI algorithms. Planning managers can analyze the results in detail and adjust them manually as needed. The solution supports both fully automated and interactive planning approaches.
For realistic delivery date commitments, ATP (Available-to-Promise) and CTP (Capable-to-Promise) checks can be performed in real time with waySuite. This enables reliable commitments to customers already at order intake — without downstream manual coordination.
waySuite features a certified SAP interface (public and private cloud). Master data, manufacturing orders, material requirements, and confirmations are synchronized bidirectionally. waySuite handles all planning activities and passes the results back to the leading SAP system.
Recurring planning tasks — such as releasing new orders, managing capacity bottlenecks, or automatically adjusting for disruption alerts — can be automated in waySuite using AI algorithms. This frees planning managers from repetitive tasks so they can focus on exception handling and strategic decisions.

Agile Project and Production Planning in the Defense Sector
Defense contractors face growing challenges that are becoming increasingly tangible as demand rises. Defense projects are characterized by extremely long timelines, highly complex supply chains, and extended product life cycles including maintenance contracts. The orders are usually highly customer-specific with substantial engineering effort (engineer-to-order). Agile Project and Production Planning in the Defense Sector

Project Planning in the Maritime Sector
The maritime industry grapples with projects involving 10,000 network activities, thousands of dependency relationships, and resource conflicts — all typical of cruise ship construction and the high complexity of its project management. This calls for transparent multi-project control with integrated capacity and resource planning. Agile Project and Production Planning in the Maritime Industry

Efficient Production Planning in the Medical Technology Sector
High regulatory requirements, strict quality guidelines, and constantly changing demand call for maximum flexibility and precision. Planning has to account for a wide range of variables: from the availability of critical raw materials, to ensuring smooth supply chains, to the scalability of production capacity.

Highest Standards, Maximum Efficiency: Production Planning for Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Companies
The pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry faces a wide range of challenges in production planning: strict regulatory requirements demand detailed documentation and complex approval processes. Short product life cycles increase the need for flexibility and fast time-to-market. At the same time, complex supply chains make it harder to ensure material availability and synchronization. Throughout all of this, the highest quality standards are indispensable for ensuring patient safety.

Shorter Throughput Times, Leaner Inventory, Stronger Margins:
Rapid, Dependable, and Profitable — Built with waySuite APS Software
Detailed scheduling refers to the operational, short-term planning of manufacturing orders against specific resources — machines, workstations, personnel, and tools — taking real capacity limits, sequence dependencies, and material availability into account. It’s the most granular planning level in production and delivers the concrete production schedule for the shop floor.
Production planning operates at a tactical, medium-term level: it determines what should be produced, in what quantity, and when. Detailed scheduling goes one level deeper, planning exactly when, where, and in what sequence an order is processed at which workstation.
An Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system is specialized planning software that optimally schedules manufacturing orders based on capacity, material availability, qualifications, and sequence dependencies. APS systems typically operate in real time, complementing the ERP system with a powerful detailed scheduling layer. valantic waySuite is a real-time APS solution.
waySuite features a certified SAP interface (private and public cloud). Manufacturing orders, master data, material requirements, and confirmations are synchronized bidirectionally.
waySuite uses AI algorithms to automatically optimize manufacturing sequences, automatically schedule new orders, and take over regular, recurring planning tasks. This frees up planning managers to focus on exceptions and strategic decisions.
