Three regions, one platform

Ski Arlberg

valantic developed a new digital platform with region-specific shopping cart and checkout processes for Ski Arlberg, all built on a shared technical foundation. Three distinct regions, diverse target audiences, and complex structures were brought together in one consistent user experience, creating the basis for a seamless digital journey and sustainable growth.

The challenge.

Three regions, one platform

Three independently operating regions with different brands, target audiences, and e-commerce structures had to be brought together on one central digital platform, including a new integrated commerce setup.

Ski Arlberg’s existing digital presence had previously relied on external sales solutions and lacked a consistent user experience. The goal was to create a unified digital presence and enhance it with an integrated commerce solution. A key challenge lay in translating diverse regional requirements, target groups, and system landscapes into one seamless and coherent experience. At the same time, numerous external agencies and technology partners had to be coordinated within a tight timeframe while maintaining high quality standards.

Clear structure meets technical precision

The solution.

The focus of the project was on closely integrating design, user experience, and technical implementation. From the conception phase onward, UX, content strategy, and data-driven optimization were considered together to bring the various requirements into a clear, well-structured framework.

Throughout the process, valantic relied on an interdisciplinary creative approach. The perspectives of the agencies die3 and Team Stadthaus were integrated into the joint development process, particularly during conception, design, and content development. This close collaboration resulted in a digital presence that consistently builds on Ski Arlberg’s brand identity and translates it into a compelling customer experience.

A clearly structured project setup, defined responsibilities, and regular coordination enabled quick decisions and reliable implementation. The result is a scalable solution that reduces complexity and intuitively guides users through regions, offers, and purchasing processes.

A consistent experience across all regions

The highlights.

What is organizationally complex behind the scenes remains consistently simple for users. The platform creates a digital stage that brings the scale, diversity, and prestige of Ski Arlberg to life in the digital realm.

A ski resort of superlatives

The client.

Ski Arlberg is one of the five largest ski resorts in the world and is organized into several independent ski areas. These include the regions of St. Anton/St. Christoph/Stuben, Lech/Oberlech/Zürs, and Warth-Schröcken.

The participating lift companies operate independently but work closely together to ensure a consistent skiing experience. State-of-the-art infrastructure, a shared ticketing system, and over 300 kilometers of ski runs form the foundation of a strong, internationally established brand.

Managing complexity together

The collaboration.

The project was carried out in close collaboration with all stakeholders. Depending on the project phase, various working groups – from marketing and IT to management – collaborated closely and aligned regularly. Clear communication, defined responsibilities, and fast decision-making enabled efficient implementation. Consistent adherence to all deadlines was a key factor in the project’s success.

A digital stage for a strong brand

The objective.

The goal of the project was to position Ski Arlberg digitally as what it already represents internationally: a legend of the Alps and one of the world’s largest ski resorts. The new digital presence was designed to reflect the brand’s commitment to quality, provide clear guidance across regional diversity, and deliver a consistent brand experience. At the same time, an integrated digital solution was created that seamlessly connects content, user navigation, and services, supporting Ski Arlberg’s long-term digital development.

Successful implementation

The impact.

With the go-live, Ski Arlberg now has a digital presence that unifies the complexity of multiple regions into one consistent user experience. In addition, the platform creates a strong foundation for the long-term development of content, commerce, and digital services.

In it for the long term

The collaboration with Ski Arlberg will continue over the long term and be developed continuously. Building on the new digital foundation, the solution will be gradually expanded with additional services and commerce functionalities. Ongoing measures in web performance and content will support this development, complemented by data-driven and AI-powered optimizations designed to sustainably increase visibility.
