Seamless integration of third-party systems & new channels
Shopware 6’s API-first approach simplifies the integration of external systems and plugins. This enabled, for example, the seamless connection of ERP and PIM systems for smooth product data and information exchange. Connections to other sales channels such as social media and marketplaces, as well as expansions to new target markets, are easily feasible.

“A new era of diamonds – never mined, but lab-grown” – This slogan is the promise and mission of Nevermined GmbH, founded in 2021. By using lab-grown diamonds, the company sets itself as one of the first manufacturers in Germany advocating for ethically and ecologically fair diamond production. The lab diamonds are produced in their own facility in Essen and meet the same standards as mined diamonds. For private customers, the jewelry is available through the sister company mandana and the eponymous webshop. With the Nevermined online shop, the company is specifically targeting B2B customers in the jewelry industry.
After intensive research and process optimization, Nevermined was ready in early 2023 to establish an online presence to increase its visibility as a brand and to reach B2B customers internationally. With its own online shop, the company aimed to gain a foothold in B2B commerce and simplify the purchase of lab-grown diamonds for both dealers and manufacturers. The digitization of sales channels was also intended to support the in-house sales team.
From the outset, Nevermined had a clear vision for the UX design of the new shop: Through a clear, intuitive layout, the frontend should correspond to the brand both visually and functionally, and highlight the jewelry pieces of the extensive assortment.
Moreover, technical requirements had to be considered: This included the seamless integration of PIM and ERP systems, which should provide reliable, current information across all platforms.
Following initial consulting and concept development by valantic, the development of the new online shop began in February 2024. As with the digital showcase for the sister company mandana, Shopware 6 was chosen as a flexible, easily scalable basis for the future B2B business.
The open-source technology allows room for innovation and enables the rapid implementation of new tools and technologies – a huge advantage for the growth-oriented brand Nevermined. To achieve optimal business processes, several external systems were integrated into the e-commerce platform. The API-First architecture simplified the integration of plugins and third-party systems, such as the ERP system Haufe and the PIM system Contentserv. These connections ensure efficient, smooth information exchange between all connected systems. As a “Single Point of Truth” the PIM platform also facilitates the knowledge and information exchange between the sister companies Nevermined and mandana.
Adaptability to future business processes
Shopware 6’s extensive selection of standard functions, which can be used and customized out of the box, makes it easy to adapt the e-commerce architecture to the specific requirements and goals of the company.
With the Rule Builder, there are no limits to future business models and scaling endeavors in an international context. The tool allows for automating customized workflows and shaping the e-commerce ecosystem without manual coding according to the individual business requirements. Extensions for new target markets are just as easy to implement as the connection of additional sales channels.
Customized functions for an outstanding CX
The desired UX design deviated in many aspects from the standard Shopware design. Through close collaboration between the project management, design team, and developers at valantic, the Nevermined shop has received a contemporary look and impresses with intuitive, user-friendly navigation.
With Advanced Search, the customer journey can be personalized based on previous search queries. Thus, customers can quickly find the right jewelry pieces in the extensive product range with numerous variants. Users can refine their search using collapsible filters and sliders for characteristics such as shape, carat weight, color, cut, clarity, and price. In terms of shapes alone, they have a choice of 28 variants. Through advanced filters, more specific features and processing variants of the diamonds can be selected, including polish, symmetry, and dimensions. On the product pages, all features are listed in a clear detailed view, complemented by high-quality images and videos that show the chosen product from different perspectives, as well as info windows as pop-ups with explanations of the respective features.
The Shopping Experiences function of Shopware 6 also helps to highlight the products and brand. With the tool, individually created layouts can be applied to multiple pages to create a distinctive, emotionally appealing, and unified brand appearance.
Since the go-live in April 2024, the Nevermined shop has been continuously developed in collaboration with valantic. Measures for search engine optimization (SEO) are already in progress. Plans are also in place to integrate additional B2B functionalities and systematically link online marketing processes with the shop to advance digital sales activities more specifically and measure performance effects.
