Hammerbacher GmbH, with over 200 employees, is a family business and leading supplier of high-quality and functional office furniture. The company, headquartered in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz with a production facility in Pukanec (Slovakia), combines a passion for quality craftsmanship with modern production methods. The challenge

Hammerbacher previously managed product data via the ERP system ABAS and manually maintained Excel spreadsheets, while the DAM system Fotoware was used to store and manage media. This fragmented system landscape led to:

  • Redundant data maintenance: complex, error-prone and time-consuming processes
  • Fragmented systems: No integration between ERP, Fotoware and other solutions
  • Complexity of changes: Manual creation of product data sheets required a lot of time and resources
  • Lack of centralization: No consistent data source for product and media data
  • Limited scalability: Challenges in managing multilingual product data and media

To solve these challenges, Hammerbacher GmbH decided to implement the central PIM system Contentserv.

Project goals

Hammerbacher had clear goals:

  1. Central data storage: Consolidation of all product data and media in Contentserv as the central PIM system
  2. ERP integration: Synchronization between Contentserv and the existing ERP system ABAS
  3. Replacement of the DAM system Fotoware: Media management was to be integrated directly into the PIM system
  4. Automation of publication processes: Efficient creation of product data sheets
  5. Optimization of the product structure: Simplification of hierarchies and inheritance mechanisms
  6. Scaling and translations: Support for multiple language versions for international customers, as well as automated translation processes
  7. Efficient workflows: Standardized and optimized processes for product and media management
