The Internet of Things is a collective term for technologies that allow the networking of physical and virtual objects with one another so that they can work together thanks to information and communication technologies. The Internet of Things thus enables interaction between human beings and networked electronic systems, as well as between the systems themselves (machine-to-machine communication, M2M).
