Bronze in the “Digital Commerce” category
St. Gallen, November 18, 2020: valantic (www.valantic.com), the fastest growing IT consulting and software company in Europe, together with its customer Winterhalter + Fenner AG, which is headquartered in St. Gallen, has won a bronze medal in the Best of Swiss Award in the “Digital Commerce” category. Winterhalter + Fenner’s outstanding e-commerce platform impressed the specialist jury with an easy-to-operate combi tool for light switches and a lamp finder for lamps.
Winterhalter + Fenner is part of the Sonepar Group and one of the leading electrical wholesalers in Switzerland – with 14 locations and approximately 450 employees. The outstanding online platform includes a range of 220,000 items, including electrotechnical components, installation materials, products for data networks, and photovoltaic systems.
E-commerce platform impresses with combi tool and lamp finder
The e-commerce platform set up by valantic for Winterhalter + Fenner offers, in addition to various other features, an easy-to-operate combi tool for light switches and a lamp finder for lamps. Among other things, these features were responsible for the fact that valantic CEC Schweiz and the electrical wholesaler won one of the most desired awards for digital commerce.
“I congratulate Winterhalter + Fenner on the Best of Swiss Web Award and on their successful, innovative e-commerce platform. Of course I am also pleased that we were able to make a contribution to this,” says Reto Rutz, Managing Director of valantic CEC Schweiz.
Outstanding services for and by Swiss companies
Each year, the Best of Swiss Web awards created in 2001 select outstanding services for and by Swiss companies using web technologies. The Best of Swiss Award does not just set quality standards. Rather, its task is to encourage transparency in the industry and give it a face. More than 100 specialist jurors were asked by Best of Swiss to name gold, silver, and bronze winners in approximately ten categories.
Assessment criteria in the digital commerce category are, among others:
- Experience including presentation of the products and services, clarity of the website for customer experience, and click figures to complete a sale.
- Innovation including commerce features such as gamification, community integration, storytelling, product configurator, and intelligent recommendation engines.
- Efficiency including measurement of customer activities and above-average values for KPIs such as high conversion and low cancellation rate.
- Process including questions of purchase support and transparency of the order process for customers.
