Get to know usMunich, August 26, 2025: The digital consulting, solutions, and software house valantic has been recognized by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for its outstanding commitment to email security. For many years, the internationally operating digital consultancy has not only maintained rigorous standards within its own IT security infrastructure but has also played a key role in strengthening the cybersecurity of numerous clients. The BSI has now recognized these efforts by inducting valantic into its Hall of Fame as part of its Email Security Year 2025 initiative.
Emails play a crucial role in the IT security architecture of companies and organizations. Infected attachments of phishing emails remain the most widespread method for distributing malware (BSI, 2025), while so-called “sniffing” (the practice of intercepting and harvesting sensitive information from emails) is also a common threat.
In a move to improve the overall security of emails—and thereby enhance the security of digital communication across Germany—the BSI, together with eco – Association of the Internet Industry and bitkom e.V., launched the Email Security Year 2025 initiative. Aimed at consumers and businesses alike, it encourages them to actively enhance their IT security infrastructure as part of the broader vision of a secure digital nation.
Ultimately, broad support from the business community sends a clear signal that digital security is seen as a shared societal responsibility, emphasized BSI President Claudia Plattner. At the same time, she cautioned: “We cannot credibly discuss the security of AI and quantum computing until we are all willing to handle everyday technologies such as email securely and make them resilient against attacks.” A central feature of the campaign is the Hall of Fame, unveiled by the BSI last Friday, to recognize companies and email service providers actively committed to securing their digital communications.
As a cybersecurity specialist, valantic is actively implementing the BSI TR-03108 (secure email transport) and BSI TR-03182 (email authentication) guidelines to measurably enhance email security for its employees, cooperation partners, and customers. The objective is to block malicious emails before they reach recipients’ inboxes—thereby not only reducing the risk of cyber incidents but also boosting trust in valantic as an employer, partner, and service provider. As a result of these initiatives, the BSI has awarded valantic induction into its Hall of Fame, honoring the company’s active contribution to Cybernation Germany and the Email Security Year 2025 campaign.
“Our induction into the BSI Hall of Fame is a tremendous honor for us and underscores our commitment to a holistic approach to information security—from technical infrastructure to employee awareness,” explains Thomas Lang, partner and managing director of valantic. “Email security is far from a peripheral concern; it is a core component of digital resilience in modern organizations.”
“With its Email Security Year 2025 campaign, the BSI is playing an invaluable role in raising awareness,” says Daniel Boyé, Director Group IT at valantic. “Drawing the public’s attention to the ever more sophisticated methods used by cybercriminals is a crucial step toward enhancing IT security nationwide. At the same time, companies and organizations are also urged to take responsibility by equipping their staff to navigate the daily flood of emails effectively.
Like the BSI, valantic also provides a range of tailored services designed to improve security. The process often begins with a security assessment to document and analyze the status quo, followed by customized measures aligned with the latest technical standards. The goal is to achieve a reliable level of protection appropriately tailored to the specific circumstances.
Guided by the principle of proportionality, the portfolio spans from robust basic security for small and medium-sized enterprises to comprehensive crisis prevention and preparedness for highly vulnerable industries.
