What does a security crisis advisor do?

A Security Crisis Advisor helps companies prepare for future crises.

To this end, they advise companies on IT security issues as well as on the selection, implementation, and application of a wide range of technologies and strategies for crisis management and threat prevention.

Companies are particularly vulnerable to cyberattacks. Data breaches, fraud, or extortion attempts can quickly result in high costs. To ensure companies are prepared for potential crises, a Security Crisis Advisor helps them build a secure infrastructure. Unlike a breach coach, they first assess the specific risks to the company’s security and evaluate existing resources and previously implemented defensive measures.

Based on this analysis, existing structures and crisis strategies are then adjusted. Even in an acute emergency—such as a cyberattack or an attempted fraud—a Security Crisis Advisor can provide assistance with crisis management, defense, and potential countermeasures.
