What is the Process Excellence Framework?

The Process Excellence Framework is a practice-oriented model developed by valantic for the sustainable improvement of business processes. It supports companies in increasing their value creation, customer orientation and digitalization through a holistic understanding of processes.
The central approach is to identify existing process weaknesses and eliminate them in a targeted manner – instead of transferring them unchanged to new systems. The framework combines operational process optimization with strategic further development and creates the structural conditions for a long-term increase in performance.

 

How is the Process Excellence Framework structured?

The framework has a modular design and consists of two levels:

  • Inner circle: Focuses on operational process management for organizations with low process maturity. The aim is to establish transparency, documentation and control mechanisms.
  • Outer circle: Aimed at companies with higher process maturity and covers strategic topics such as process optimization, integration of new technologies, system adjustments and sustainable monitoring.

This structure makes it possible to provide both newcomers and advanced organizations with targeted support in the further development of their processes.

What are the goals of the Process Excellence Framework?

The framework pursues three overarching objectives:

  1. Increasing process orientation – creating a holistic view of end-to-end processes.
  2. Increasing company performance – optimizing operational processes, tapping automation potential and using AI.
  3. Sustainable anchoring of improvements – establishment of suitable governance structures, role models and continuous improvement processes.

In which projects is the Process Excellence Framework used?

valantic uses the framework primarily in large transformation and digitalization projects, including:

  • Introduction of ERP or CRM systems
  • Conversion to digital eCommerce platforms
  • Migration and optimization of product information systems (PIM)
  • Process harmonization as part of company-wide digital strategies

In these projects, the framework serves as a methodical guideline to analyze and improve processes holistically before the system is introduced and to make them future-proof.
