What is Machine Learning (ML)?

Machine learning (ML) is part of the world of artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Through machine learning, software uses existing datasets and algorithms to recognize patterns and regularities and can then develop solutions based on them—in other words, build knowledge from experience.

However, for machine learning to be effective, systems must first be trained with the data and algorithms relevant to the learning process. In addition, rules must be established for analyzing the data and recognizing patterns. Once suitable data is available and rules are defined, systems using machine learning can, among other things, calculate probabilities for certain events and optimize processes based on specific patterns.
