Data protection information for prize competition participation

With this privacy policy, we inform you about the scope of the processing of your personal data (hereinafter “data”) in the context of participation in the competition on the occasion of Databricks Usergroup in Hamburg at January 29th.

2. Scope and purposes of the processing of personal data

On the occasion of Databricks Usergroup in Hamburg at January 29th 2026, valantic Business Analytics GmbH offers you the opportunity to take part in a competition.

By participating in the competition, the organizer receives the right to contact you for advertising purposes using the data you have provided. This concerns sending an e-mail newsletter on the offers and technical information of valantic Business Analytics GmbH and its affiliated companies in accordance with § 15 AktG.

We process the contact details you provide when you enter the prize competition. We also process the data you provide if you win: first name, surname and e-mail address, as well as the winner’s bank details:

• full name
• e-mail-address
• company
• phone number
• job title

3. Duration of data storage

The legal basis for data processing is the execution of the contract for the purpose of executing the competition and use for advertising purposes in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 a), b), f) GDPR.

Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b) DSGVO

We process personal data in the context of contract initiation and fulfillment of the competition contract concluded between you and us. The processing is carried out for the provision of contractually guaranteed services, such as the fulfillment of any claim to the transfer of the prize offered as part of the competition

The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR. As part of the performance and execution of the contract, we process the data that you have provided to us when concluding the contract or in the course of the contractual relationship. This includes in particular your master data (name, surname, date of birth, address, e-mail address).

Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a) DSGVO

If you have given us your consent to process your data, we will process the data for the purpose stated in the declaration of consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f) DSGVO

We also process your data in order to protect our legitimate interests or those of third parties. This applies in particular with regard to internal communication between the affiliated companies and other administrative purposes.

4. Your rights as a data subject

a) Right to information

On request, you can obtain information about all personal data that we have stored about you at any time and free of charge.

b) Right to correction, erasure, restriction of processing (blocking), objection

If you no longer agree to the storage of your personal data or if it has become incorrect, we will arrange for the deletion or blocking of your data or make the necessary corrections (insofar as this is possible under the applicable law). The same applies if we are only to process data to a limited extent in future.

You also have the right to object in cases where the processing of your data is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or for the purposes of our legitimate interests and profiling based on those interests. You also have such a right to object in the case of data processing for the purpose of direct advertising. In the event of an objection, further participation in the competition is excluded.

c) Right to withdraw consent with effect for the future

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. Your revocation does not affect the legality of the data processed up to the time of revocation.

d) Right to data portability

If data processing is carried out on the basis of a contract, pre-contractual negotiations, consent or with the aid of automated procedures, you have the right to data portability. Upon request, we will provide you with your data in a commonly used, structured and machine-readable format so that you can transmit the data to another controller upon request.

e) Right to restriction of processing

Data for which we are not able to identify the data subject, e.g. if it has been anonymized for analysis purposes, is not covered by the above rights. Information, deletion, blocking, correction or transfer to another company may be possible with regard to this data if you provide us with additional information that allows us to identify you.

f) Exercising your rights as a data subject and right to lodge a complaint
