Verbier 4 Vallées

The desire for a new, visually appealing website was strong – and bringing it to life as quickly as possible even stronger. The challenge: numerous features had to be implemented within a very short time.

A freerider in Verbier rides down a steep powder slope, surrounded by spectacular Alpine scenery.

Challenge

An old company site here, a stand-alone ticket shop there, and then there was also the site of the tourist board: Information on the “Téléverbier” mountain railways could previously only be found on different websites and in different areas

The consequence: For users, the search for information turned out to be a time-consuming affair – on partly outdated websites. What was missing was a holistic website for the mountain railways that could serve as a platform for customers.

Goals

The goals that needed to be achieved through a separate mountain railways website were clear from the beginning.

  1. 1

    New, contemporary appearance

All content and products of the mountain railway are presented clearly for users.

  2. 2

    Appealing online shop

All product categories in the online shop are clearly structured.

  3. 3

    Increase in online sales

    e.g. for ticket sales

Implementation

For this ambitious project, a team full of valantic experts was assembled: Three creative minds of the Design team gave it their all to present the content provided by the two content experts in a visually appealing way. Another two people from the Web Performance Optimisation team made sure that the content was search engine friendly and optimised in terms of a holistic customer experience. A total of seven frontend and backend experts were deployed for various adjustments and developments.

Two project managers kept an eye on things throughout the entire project: They tracked the progress, ensured compliance with set deadlines, and acted as a point of contact for the client.

Numerous development hours later and nine months after the kick-off, the time had finally come: On 22 June 2021, “the switches were flipped” and the website went live in three languages.

More than just nice to look at

Even at first glance, the website captivates users with its high-performance, clean and modern design. And thanks to the optimised content structure, it’s easy for them to find their way around..

With a customer profile for the webshop, users now see everything at a glance: from their order history to the benefits of an annual pass. By the way, the staff of the mountain railways are happy about the B2C shop as well: The booking tool, the cancellation tool, voucher voiding and up-to-date ticket availability management make their daily work a lot easier.
