Together with valantic, Gasunie set the course for sustainable procurement. In a focused project, ESG criteria for infrastructure projects were defined and translated into a practical, implementable roadmap. About the company

Gasunie is a leading transmission system operator and plays a key role in the development of a European hydrogen network. With valantic’s support, the company developed a well-founded procurement strategy that systematically takes sustainability aspects into account. The focus was on analyzing the status quo, defining specific ESG criteria and developing a strategic roadmap for future procurement decisions.

The project

The challenge

Gasunie plays a central role in developing a resource-efficient energy infrastructure in Europe. Sustainability aspects are therefore to be systematically embedded in its procurement processes. The objective was to create transparency regarding the status quo. In addition, a concrete framework for integrating ESG criteria into procurement was developed, with a particular focus on industry-specific requirements and timelines.
