Structured sales planning at Jowat

Together with valantic, Jowat optimized the Sales & Operations Planning process – with the aim of noticeably increasing planning quality and delivery reliability. The processes were revised in a structured manner and existing systems were better utilized. This reduced storage costs and made internal coordination more efficient.

About the company

Jowat is a leading international manufacturer of adhesives with over 1,000 employees and a turnover of more than 250 million euros. In the project with valantic, the company revised its S&OP process. The forecast quality was optimized and KPI-based control was introduced. This and clearly structured planning processes led to greater delivery reliability and noticeable savings along the value chain.

The challenge

The existing S&OP process at Jowat was characterized by poor forecasting quality and inefficient planning processes. The lack of transparency and coordination between the specialist departments made reliable sales and production planning difficult. The aim was to structure the processes, improve interfaces and achieve greater delivery reliability.

Solutions & results in detail

The optimization of the S&OP process achieved noticeable improvements along the entire value chain. There was a significant increase in delivery reliability. The more effective use of the existing software and the use of KPI-supported control made processes more efficient and strengthened cross-departmental interfaces. More precise forecasts also enabled a six-figure reduction in storage costs.

Conclusion
