Procurement organization under review
To optimize the procurement organization, a remote benchmarking exercise was conducted to assess the maturity level across nine dimensions. Using document analyses, interviews, and a time-expenditure assessment, valantic identified significant optimization potential. The outcome: a roadmap for the strategic development of central procurement. This approach sustainably enhances the efficiency and performance of ADAC’s procurement function.
ADAC, Europe’s largest automobile club, employs more than 2,000 people and generates revenues of over 200 million euros. To increase the efficiency of its procurement department, valantic conducted a remote benchmarking exercise.
The challenge
ADAC’s procurement organization has to combine numerous requirements and internal customer wishes. The aim of the project was to determine the current maturity level of the procurement department and to identify optimization potential in order to strategically develop the central procurement department.

Through the quick benchmarking exercise, ADAC gained valuable insights into the performance of its procurement organization. valantic’s structured approach established a foundation that sustainably strengthens central procurement and prepares it for future challenges.
