The project

The challenge

HAKA Kunz faced the challenge of optimizing its procurement processes and conditions. With around 65 product groups and over 350 vendors, there was considerable potential to reduce costs and simplify processes. It was also necessary to identify potential savings through a detailed analysis of procurement practices in order to realize operational and strategic efficiency gains.

Consulting approach

  1. Assessment of the current situation and identification of potential savings
    • Conducting interviews to assess current procurement practices and existing restrictions.
    • Detailed documentation of specifications and bills of quantities for relevant product groups.
  2. Realization of savings through various implementation approaches
    • Implementation of comprehensive tenders for product groups such as packaging (solid board & corrugated cardboard), CEP services and raw materials
    • Identification and analysis of cost drivers to create maximum transparency
    • Implementation of demand management initiatives, including the elimination of “Green Dot” license expenses and adjustment of the frequency of demand in maintenance cleaning.
