Cost-optimized scheduling
Together with valantic, Peter Lacke analyzed all order lot sizes, taking into account all relevant cost factors. The potential identified was specifically prepared for implementation in operational procurement.
Peter Lacke is a leading manufacturer of paints and varnishes with an international customer structure and over 120 employees. Together with valantic, the order lot sizes of all procurement items were analyzed and optimized. The goal was to define cost-optimized order quantities based on all relevant cost factors and thus significantly reduce process costs in procurement.
The challenge
The existing order lot sizes at Peter Lacke were not based on a total cost approach. Neither price scales nor ordering, storage or capital costs were systematically taken into account. The aim was to determine a cost-optimized order quantity for all procurement items and thus create a sound basis for decision-making for operational procurement.
Solutions & results in detail
Optimal order quantities were calculated by analyzing all procurement items and relevant cost items. The identified potentials were processed in a structured manner and transferred to the operational procurement department in a targeted manner – as a basis for well-founded decisions in day-to-day business.
Conclusion
With valantic, Peter Lacke established cost-based control of order lot sizes. The transparency gained and the practical implementation strengthen efficiency in procurement and ensure long-term economic benefits.
