The new steiermark.com sets a novel benchmark in digital tourism, showcasing Styria more vibrantly than ever. In close collaboration with Steirische Tourismus und Standortmarketing GmbH, valantic has created a digital platform that seamlessly unites technology, brand, and emotion.
Design, user experience, and system architecture have been comprehensively modernized. The result: a vacation platform that combines inspiration with information – intuitive to use, well-structured, and unmistakably branded.
A digital project of exceptional scope – millions of data points, countless dependencies, and one clear goal: reinventing Styria’s vacation platform while preserving what already works. Taking on this challenge meant mastering enormous data volumes and complex system landscapes, as well as meeting the highest standards for design, stability, and user experience.
valantic tackled a momentous task: technically and visually modernizing Steirische Tourismus und Standortmarketing GmbH’s existing system – including 6,500+ editorially maintained pages, 550,000 assets, and around 2 million data objects – without interrupting day-to-day editorial work. The mission: to retain all content and interfaces while elevating the experience for users and editors. Implementation was fully data-driven and user-centric, delivering a complete transformation of Austria’s leading vacation platform. Multiple workstreams – from redesign and native booking process renewal to front-end modernization, Pimcore update, and data integration – ran in parallel under precise coordination. The result is a finely orchestrated fusion of design, technology, content, and customer experience that lifts Styria’s digital presence to an unprecedented level.
The solution.
valantic began the project with an extensive, data-driven analysis and documentation of the existing system. On this basis, a solution was developed that intelligently combined redesign, system updates, and UX modernization – while fully preserving all existing content, interfaces, and data logic.
Over 18 months of preparation, audits, and user testing laid the groundwork: User feedback and behavioral insights were evaluated using consumer psychology models to systematically optimize navigation, ease of use, and visual clarity. The core question at every stage: How can the platform deliver top performance while remaining intuitive for guests, partners, and all stakeholders?
The implementation was based on Pimcore – with a modernized front end, a new, fully integrated end-to-end booking process, and extensive multi-level testing. The outcome: a robust, scalable platform that is future-ready and forms the digital backbone for Vision Styria 2030.

Steirische Tourismus und Standortmarketing GmbH (STG) is the central organization responsible for marketing Styria as a travel destination, business hub, and place to live. With steiermark.com, it operates one of Austria’s most comprehensive tourism platforms – a digital ecosystem that intelligently connects regions, businesses, and experiences.
STG stands for sustainable, high-quality tourism, regional diversity, and a clear vision: making Styria tangible in the digital realm – as a place to live and explore. The new platform brings this vision to life on every level: emotionally through design, structurally through data logic, and operationally through streamlined content management.
