Halemeier
Halemeier has been a specialist in furniture lighting for over 25 years. The company develops high-quality LED luminaires, lighting technology and the corresponding electronics in Melle-Neuenkirchen, setting standards in design, service and technology. Halemeier creates customised solutions for customers ranging from carpenters and furniture makers to the furniture industry and commercial interior design. The company’s development expertise extends far beyond the field of classic furniture lighting and repeatedly translates visions into tailor-made results, not only for lighting.

Halemeier needed a solution that would allow it to centrally maintain and release all product data and make it available in various channels in a suitable form and with little manual effort.

viamedici’s EPIM enables Halemeier to manage data centrally with a high degree of automation and assured data quality.
Halemeier faced the challenge of making product data from various storage and management systems available in portals, data sheets and printed materials in a timely and efficient manner with high data quality. In particular, the connection to the European database for energy labelling, EPREL, required complete mandatory data of high quality. Compiling this data for the mandatory provision of energy labels in the EU was very time-consuming without centralised data management and could have a negative impact on a product’s time-to-market. Data maintenance therefore needed to be more efficient, faster and more transparent. Data sheets accompanying the products should also be generated automatically from approved data in order to reduce manual effort. Printed materials such as catalogues should also be created using verified product data in order to avoid long-term correction processes. Halemeier’s customers should also be supplied with electronic catalogues that are updated daily.
To evaluate the right PIM system, valantic used an agile and pragmatic selection process that highlighted the big picture at Halemeier. This created a comprehensive 360° view of the specific requirements and pain points and captured all points relevant to Halemeier. Due in particular to the desired high degree of automation in the processes, viamedici EPIM proved to be the most suitable PIM system for Halemeier. In the scope workshop, the project phases with their important milestones and priorities were jointly developed. This formed the basis for a project process that was transparent at all times for all those involved. In further workshops, the detailed steps and tasks were worked out so that data could be transferred to EPIM very quickly and other systems could be connected. Building on this, the data sheets were created so that the new PIM system could be used to great advantage even in the early project phase and acceptance among data maintainers could be increased. The implementation of output channels such as the interface to EPREL, the export of electronic catalogues, the additional viamedici product portal and the print edition of the complete catalogue rounded off the successful project.
