igefa is one of the leading specialist wholesale groups for cleaning, care, hygiene, occupational safety and medical supplies in Germany. With over 2,900 employees, around 30 locations and a turnover of approx. 1.3 billion euros, the group operates throughout Germany. As an association of regional family businesses, igefa follows a clear sustainability strategey, focusing on digitalization and compliance in its supply chain.
igefa, a leading European specialist wholesaler with a diverse product portfolio and numerous subsidiary companies, faced the challenge of implementing the new EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) by Decemeber 2025. Identifying relevant products, structuring data across the group, and selecting a suitable EUDR tool required significant organizational effort and expertise.
“The particular complexity of the EUDR required specific external support for efficient implementation.” – igefa
The project aimed to define central processes, select a suitable tool, and document supplier status in accordance with the EUDR requirements. Over several months, the initiative included workshops, interviews, and data analyses.
Impact analysis and profile development
GAP analysis and creation of a Group-wide action plan
Implementation of cross-functional workshops for process definition
Tool selection via RfP procedure and management of queries/quotations
Supplier query to collect relevant article information
Thanks to the structured approach, igefa successfully identified all EUDR-relevant products, defined central processes and selected a suitable tool. The supplier survey offered valuable transparency regarding the current implementation status.
