Optimized goods receipt

Efficient processes at Veltins

Veltins was faced with the challenge of standardizing heterogeneous incoming goods processes. In collaboration with valantic, the processes were standardized, digitalized and automated. The result: fewer manual bookings, greater transparency and a noticeable reduction in costs.

About the company

Veltins is one of Germany’s leading private breweries with a turnover of over 400 million euros. Together with valantic, the company optimized its incoming goods processes. The focus was on the standardization of processes, the expansion of digital procedures and the automation of manual booking steps – with measurable efficiency gains and a more transparentdesign.

The project

The challenge

Veltins used various hardware and software tools for different groups of goods in the incoming goods department, which led to a high level of complexity. The booking of incoming goods was partly automated and partly manual. The associated effort put a strain on efficiency and made transparent and uniform recording difficult.

Consulting approach

1. Analysis of the current situation

  • Detailed examination of the master and transactional data of all relevant items
  • Evaluation of existing process documentation to identify potential for improvement

2. Execution of workshops with relevant stakeholders

  • Observation of goods receipt processes in selected categories
  • Identification of restrictions and challenges in practical implementation

3. Derivation of action recommendations

  • Conducting follow-up discussions on ongoing solution initiatives
  • Support of additional process steps to evaluate the implemented measures
