One region, six resorts: Adelboden-Lenk is the epitome of ski and outdoor bliss in the Swiss Alps. Being one of Switzerland’s top holiday destinations, it was time for them to elevate their online shopping experience to the next level. Based on a thought-out user experience concept, the website became an experience in itself in 2023, but it was the native integration of the online booking system that saw ticket sales soaring to new heights.
Adelboden-Lenk is one of the most popular ski and bike regions of the Swiss Alps, boasting six impressive resorts: the main resort of Adelboden-Lenk, plus Engstligenalp, Betelberg, Elsigen-Metsch, Silleren-Chuenisbärgli, and Tschentenalp. Every resort has its own charm and boasts top-class offers for outdoor enthusiasts. On top, you get to enjoy exquisite mountain hut cuisine and one-of-a-kind event highlights, in short: the complete holiday package.

The mission
Adelboden-Lenk is proud of the great variety of options the individual resorts offer. And rightly so! To represent their vast service portfolio in one online shop, they got the valantic team on board. The mission: making it easy for users to find all tickets and packages in one place, clearly structured and with a quick and hassle-free booking option. In addition, a dynamic pricing system was established to reward early bookers and optimize occupancy rates.
The new online shop is the central port of call for purchasing tickets and booking outdoor activities in Adelboden-Lenk – with a strong focus on user-friendliness. A clean and visually appealing design facilitates navigation, and the website boasts a clear structure and fast access to the desired information. Plus, it only takes eight steps for customers to purchase tickets.
In collaboration with PriceNow, a dynamic pricing system was implemented. Following the motto “Early birds get the best prices”, the system rewards early bookers. Ticket prices are adjusted in real time based on factors such as demand and seasonality. Plus, users can choose from various payment options including Twint, Swisspass, or invoice. In addition, all tickets are automatically insured.
Furthermore, personal details are stored via a customer account, simplifying future booking processes and providing users with a convenient overview of their orders.
The new ticket shop has had an extremely positive impact on purchasing behavior. Ticket sales have shifted from the on-site ticket counters to the online shop. The convenient usability has led to a revenue increase of +47 % in the online shop compared to +5 % at the on-site ticket offices. What’s more, the number of support requests has significantly decreased due to the clearly structured booking process.
Plus, the dynamic pricing strategy turned out to be a great success. While tickets were still purchased approximately 0.7 days in advance in the previous year, they are now being bought 8.4 days in advance in the 2023/2024 season.
Looking back on 2021
During the website relaunch in 2021, valantic already demonstrated that projects can be successfully implemented in a short period of time. With only about five months between project kick-off and website go-live, everything was “ready for the future” just in time for the start of the ski season on December 2, 2021.
Shining in new splendor, the most important information was now clearly structured and easily accessible.
