Carsten Bork, valantic Partner

“Successful collaboration and innovation start with clarity of purpose.”

What do you focus on at valantic?

Together with my teams, we empower our customers with modern technology to improve their business management. In doing so, it is vital to understand their business model and corporate goals. We process the findings conceptually in the management concept and a holistic CPM strategy. This brings more clarity into the content alignment, range of services, and the main strategic course of our customers’ finance divisions. As such, we can make a significant contribution to our customers’ success.

What do you burn for?

In the CFO area, I work with my teams and customers to shape the digitalization of their finance function and thus better align their corporate management. Together, we develop a goal, scale the organizations, and reorganize processes such as Corporate Performance Management, planning, and reporting. In doing so, we continuously question the status quo because we are shaping the CFO function in the most exciting time of the past 20 years! The combined power of today’s systems and AI lets finance processes be rethought from the ground up. Throughout the process, it is very important to me that our customers are on board.

What makes valantic special for you?

valantic creates a framework that allows us to combine entrepreneurial work and personal development. We are a diverse team in which all our competence centers and all our colleagues can contribute their skills. It is precisely the fact that we don’t have central governance which over-regulates our activities and the business that makes valantic so appealing. Instead, we have plenty of scope for creativity. We are driven by the shared vision to advance digitalization.

What is your professional background?

I am a dyed-in-the-wool consultant with over 20 years of experience advising my finance-sector customers as close partners. I have managed some impressive projects, both at medium-sized companies and at large, prestigious corporations, and in many sectors. After studying Business Administration and holding positions at consultancies KPMG, BearingPoint, and Horváth & Partners Management Consultants, I joined the valantic management team in 2019. Since joining the valantic family in 2021, valantic has gained considerable clout because we can now offer our customers a far wider range of services.

What do you do when you are not working?

In my free time, I like to be outdoors in nature – especially when traveling. Diving, mountain biking, and hiking let me recharge my batteries. And fine wines, healthy food, and great music are the icing on the cake! Music, in particular, has a special meaning for me and manifests itself in my passion for exclusive records and high-quality sound.
