valantic offers S/4HANA migration strategies with SNP BLUEFIELD™ approach
Munich, January 12, 2021: Since October, the digitalization specialist valantic (www.valantic.com), in partnership with SNP Schneider-Neureither & Partner SE (www.snpgroup.com), has offered application of the SNP BLUEFIELD™ method for its S/4HANA projects. SNP is the proven data transformation expert in SAP environments. Customers are therefore able to implement all conceivable migration scenarios in SAP environments with the help of a single provider and take advantage of both partners’ specialized and technical expertise. Right at the beginning of the partnership, SNP and valantic started a large joint project
The BLUEFIELD™ approach developed by SNP reduces the time and effort required for the transformation to SAP S/4HANA significantly. SNP’s own CrystalBridge® transformation software is used for this. Existing customer systems are put to the test in an automated process, then their functions are expanded based on the results, and the whole system is transformed to S/4 in a single step at any point in time. There is no need for a complete re-engineering of all processes, for various preparatory projects in advance of an S/4HANA transformation (EHP upgrade, data archiving, etc.) or fixation on a particular go-live strategy, for example at the turn of the year. BLUEFIELD™ thus exploits the optimization potential of an S/4HANA transformation, but only where this makes sense and generates specific added value. valantic works with its customers to identify the specific added value, translates it into an S/4 approach, and then implements this jointly. In many scenarios, SNP incorporates its expertise and experience from numerous transformation projects. At the same time, valantic consultants are being trained and certified in the application of the BLUEFIELD™ transformation approach powered by CrystalBridge®.
Between 2027 and 2030, SAP will discontinue support for ERP solutions such as R/3, ERP 6.0, and the Business Suite 7. By then, customers will have to migrate to S/4HANA, the next-generation digital platform. The old familiar greenfield and brownfield transformation approaches have numerous advantages and disadvantages. Greenfield constructs the future ERP system from scratch “on a green field.” All business processes have to be analyzed, redesigned, and implemented on the IT side. The work required for analysis and design, just as for data migration, can be very time- and cost-intensive, so this is not the optimal approach for every project. Brownfield, by contrast, restricts itself to a quick technical migration of what’s necessary and it costs less, but it does not consider optimization potential. That’s why it is recommended for well-established SAP ECC 6.0 environments that are close to the standard. With highly individualized, historically developed ERP systems, a brownfield approach can quickly become more complex than a new implementation since generally various preparatory projects such as data archiving, upgrades, and Unicode conversion are required.
SNP BLUEFIELD™ migrates quickly, securely, and customer-specifically
“No longer do customers have to let themselves be forced into a rigid migration scheme. With SNP, valantic offers the whole bandwidth of scenarios and unites strong specialized, methodical, and technical expertise with an innovative, flexible approach that creates the best of all worlds. A large joint project at the beginning of our partnership with SNP is strong confirmation that the market was waiting for precisely this,” explains Guido Czampiel, Managing Director at valantic, who is responsible for the Competence Center ERP Consulting. Together with its customers, valantic creates an optimal S/4HANA road map and works with them to implement it end-to-end.
SNP is a proven specialist for complex transformation projects and has successfully completed more than 12,000 migration projects. “We are very pleased about the partnership with valantic, whose exceptionally great consulting expertise and experience with S/4HANA migration projects make them efficient and successful. This is precisely where there are synergies and where, in cooperation with valantic, we want to help their regular customers migrate quickly and securely to S/4 in the future; however we also want to work together to acquire new customers,” says Thilo Nagler, Managing Director and Vice President of Sales CEU at SNP.
