Christian is 28 years old and has been part of the LINKIT Consulting team since September 2019. In his role as an SAP S/4HANA Finance consultant, he tells us about his professional start, why no project is like another, and why he especially appreciates the friendly attitude and readiness of his LINKIT colleagues to help him.

What do you especially like about LINKIT?

I especially like the friendly attitude and readiness to help of the people on my team. At LINKIT, you have great colleagues who are always happy to assist you. I also like the relaxed atmosphere. In addition to professional cooperation, we sometimes use our breaks to stage an entertaining foosball match.

What are the challenges of your job?

At valantic, no project is like another. Adjusting to each individual customers and their requirements with regard to process and system environments is an exciting challenge for me. As an entry-level employee, I would also like to acquire extensive specialized knowledge of SAP Finance so that I can assist the project team with current and future projects to the best of my abilities. I also regard this task as a positive challenge.

How was your start at LINKIT?

Thanks to the recommendation of a professor at my university, I became aware of LINKIT Consulting. After I had applied, I was invited the week after that for a personal interview. I especially appreciated the open exchange with the LINKIT team.

I made my practical start at LINKIT working in a student job. Because I had not learned anything about SAP at university, I used the time to focus intensively on the SAP world and the topic of Project Management Office. In that phase, I also completed the SAP Finance certification.
In September 2019, I started as a Junior Consultant SAP S/4HANA Finance and was involved right away in an ongoing project. Thanks to my previous learning phase, I was able to provide assistance on the project from the start.

What do you do as a consultant?

My tasks are many and varied. Since I am still at the beginning of my career, I haven’t specialized quite yet, so that my activities within the projects vary.

Thus, for example, on one of our SAP S/4HANA transformation projects, I took over test management. The goal of the testing was to ensure that all data had been migrated correctly to the system. Furthermore, I am currently assisting our project management in the Project Management Office sector; I am responsible for all relevant planning tasks. In general, my job in SAP S/4HANA Finance involves a lot more than just crunching numbers.
