valantic Presents Version 4.3 of the waySuite Sales & Operations Planning Software

Standard software for supply chain planning expanded to include sales planning

  • waySuite Release 4.3: wayRTS gets a “Sales Center” for the integration of sales & operations planning
  • Additional function for tool planning and wayWFM module (Workforce Management) introduced

Munich, July 31, 2019: With Release 4.3 of the waySuite and APS software (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) wayRTS (Real Time Simulation), extensive expansions of the standard software for real-time simulations of SCM planning scenarios have been added. The wayWFM (Workforce Management) module for personnel deployment planning has also been added. Furthermore, in the wayRTS Sales Center, there is now a function package for sales & operations planning, all planning levels are integrated and therefore the entire S&OP process is optimized.

“Our experience shows that many companies still create sales plans on the item level using improvised Excel lists. With the wayRTS Sales Center, we enable sales employees to make the forecast directly in wayRTS. The sales plan can be analyzed, adjusted, and transformed into operative plan requirements after capacitive checking in scenarios,” explains Christian Wahnschaffe, Vice President at valantic in the Supply Chain Excellence Competence Center. Both the sales planning using mathematical forecasts based on historic data and the sales employees’ forecasts are supported in wayRTS. The effects of various scenarios on the value-creation chain can be simulated. All supply chain partners work with a current overview of the situation; at the same time, they can simulate as many planning alternatives and their effects on capacities, inventories, delivery times, etc. as they wish. Thanks to its certified interfaces to all common ERP systems, it is also possible to take over optimal scenarios into the planning from wayRTS.

The new browser-based module wayWFM for personnel deployment planning fulfills all requirements for the automated creation of shift plans. These are created depending on the qualification and availability of the individual employees.

From consulting practice to software

Customer projects and requirements greatly influence the further enhancement of the way product suite. The introduction of tool planning into wayRTS is an example of this. Because the availability of particular special tools – like that of machines – often presents a limiting factor, customer-specific solutions for the incorporation of machine tools into capacity planning have been realized quite frequently. With Version 4.3, wayRTS now offers an easy planning function in its standard configuration, one that considers this resource.

With real-time capability, visualization, simulation, permanent synchronization, computing power that can be scaled at will, personnel deployment and machine tool planning, the in-memory software wayRTS fulfills all requirements that companies pose of planning systems in state-of-the-art, very flexible production concepts.
