In the valantic 'Financial Services Automation' you are entrusted with customer support for our applications in the electronic trading area. In the exciting environment of electronic trading of shares, currencies, cryptos and many other assets, we offer our customers (banks, brokers, fintechs) customised system solutions and platforms.

As a Support Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for 2nd level support in a very cooperative, dynamic team with six other colleagues at the Frankfurt location. This mainly includes:

  • Recording, analysing and reproducing customer issues after they have been first recorded by the helpdesk
  • Troubleshooting including remote analysis on customer systems or systems in managed SaaS operation
  • Communication and coordination between helpdesk, customers, development and test teams
  • Solution-oriented communication with the customer and monitoring of open customer issues and tickets
  • Installation of the product and updates in the customer system as well as support in projects and in professional service
  • If necessary, conducting internal and external trainings

What distinguishes you

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or diploma in the field of IT, mathematics, physics or similar qualification or comparable professional experience in the IT field, also as a career changer
  • Basic network knowledge (TCP/IP, router, firewalls)
  • Good or very good Knowledge of Unix operating systems (usually Linux) and Windows as well as common standard software
  • Fluent German and good written and spoken English skills
  • Independent, structured and careful way of working, solution-oriented combined with very good communication skills
  • A strong team spirit as well as creativity and persistence in problem solving
  • Enjoyment of learning, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure
  • Enjoy technical support with direct customer contact

Advantageous, but not a requirement:

  • Experience with software in the banking environment
  • Knowledge of databases
  • Basic programming skills (e.g. bash, Python, Tcl, Java or C++)
