Christoph Schnitzenbaumer is 27 years old and has been at valantic since June 2018. As Senior Consultant for SAP TM & EWM, he tells us about his start at valantic, the challenges with which his everyday work as a consultant confronts him, and why he believes the total package at valantic is a good fit for him.
How was your start at valantic?
I became aware of valantic through a good friend, and I have to say that the company piqued my interest right away.
The application process started with a telephone interview. Then I got to know some colleagues in a personal interview. During the interview, I especially appreciated the open exchange about a variety of topics. In the last step, I examined a case study and then presented it. My personal highlight during the application process was that at the end of the last application day, I had a signed employment contract in my hands and my future colleagues congratulated me on my new position. Overall, I really liked the application process. At valantic, specialized knowledge is important, but so is personality.
Right from the first day, I had the feeling that I was a full member of the team. I was incorporated into ongoing projects right away. That way, I was able to get a quick overview of our processes and assume responsibility.
What do you especially like about valantic?
Crucial for me is the overall package that valantic offers as my employer.
I especially like the cooperation with my colleagues, the fair and trusting interaction in the course of our daily work. And our internal training program, such as the vAcademy, is also great. We have the opportunity to train each other and we can share our knowledge, which ensures that we keep on learning. In addition to the internal trainings, of course there are also external trainings available.
What are the challenges of your job?
The speed of change in the technology sector is extremely rapid. And keeping a finger on the pulse is important for us as an IT company; we need to work with the latest technologies. Therefore, the biggest challenges are detecting market development trends and keeping an eye on SAP’s new developments.
In addition, at valantic I work with a wide variety of customers every day. Thus, for example, we handle SAP projects in a wide variety of industries, from food to automobiles. It’s a balancing act to keep up with market developments and adjusting to new customer requests – exciting and challenging for me at the same time.
What do you do as Senior Consultant SAP TM & EWM?
As a team, we assist our customers from the value detection phase to the go-live of a SAP TM & EWM project. As Senior Consultant SAP TM & EWM (Transportation Management & Extended Warehouse Management), my focus is on the process analysis. I examine the customer’s processes systematically and reveal potential for improvement. The focus here is especially on possible standardizations, homogenizations, extensions, and best practices. Of course we also always examine the customer’s specific desires and needs.
In addition to daily project business, we travel regularly to trade shows. For we also want to know for the future: What are the current IT trends? Which way are our customers going? How are our customers’ needs changing?
